Actarus The Prince of Euphor : the hero. When he's not out destroying Golgoths, he works at Rigel's farm as a stablehand. Like Superman, nobody at the farm knows his secret identity.
Professeur Procyon, creater of the centre and Actarus' adopted father. During the series he would construct the ships for Vénusia, Alcor and Fénicia. He would also greatly improve Goldorak's power.
Alcor, comes to the centre in the first episode of Goldorak to investigate the increased appearance of UFOs in the area. Ends up learning Actarus' secret identity and stays to become a member of the Earth's defence team.
Vénusia, the female presence mandatory
to any good series. Of course Actarus is in love with her, but she is herself in
love with his secret identity of the Prince of Euphor... As the series progresses she also learns
Actarus' secret and ends up joining the team defending the Earth. Rigel, owner of the Ranch du Bouleau Blanc where Actarus and Alcor work. He is also Vénusia and Mizar's father. He is a little bit crazy and he impatiently awaits a visit by aliens, little suspecting that his own stablehand Actarus is from another planet! Mizar, Rigel's young son.
Fénicia, Actarus' sister. Actarus discovers her in an episode where turns out to be the pilot of one of Véga's war machines, and for once Actarus finds himself battling a very tough opponent... But in the heat of the action he recognizes her thanks to her pendant...
Sirius, Antares, Argoli and Cochir, members of Professor Procyon's staff.
Banta, another stablehand on Rigel's farm, whose only purpose in the series is to be a romantic rival for Actarus with Vénusia. |
Grand Stratéguer (Stratéguerre? Stratéguair? the spelling is questionable): Head villain and therefore the most evil and detestable (Boo!).
Minos and Minas, commanders in chief of the Vegan camp on the dark side of the moon. Depending on the season, Minos' head would open up to reveal the miniature Minas (in earlier episodes) or her own head (later in the series).
Hydargos,Minos/Minas' right hand man. He would be killed when the admiral ship is destroyed by Goldorak. It was in this same battle that Minos/Minas was seriously wounded in the face, and from that episode on that Minas changed her appearance.
Général Horos, Hydargos's replacement. However, rather than being made a subordinate to Minos/Minas, Horos was his equal in rank; and this became the basis for an almost constant rivalry between these two (three?) characters.
Végan soldiers, dressed in silly green uniforms, they only seemed to be useful at terrorising the earth population during Végan invasion attempts. They might well be capable of defeating Earth soldiers (who are usually also dressed in silly green uniforms... ) if Goldorak and Actarus weren't around to defend our planet. |
